Very much a reminder of the relationship between the townscape and its environment. Thanks.

In reality the colours were even more vivid than this - but my phone wasn't really up to it! It would also be more accurate to describe this as "Sunset over industrial Deflt hinterland". In the daylight I can see the ship canal and associated warehouses and beyond that a lot of chimneys.

Actually, I learned yesterday, the view isn't over Delft at all! but over Delft Hoorn. The important distinction apparently is that Delft is bankrupt (hence why all the roadworks that were here in February are still here) and Delft Hoorn is not.

I have since learned that the is not Sunset over Delft, but sunset over Delft Hoorn. The vital distinction being, apparently, that Delft is bankrupt and Delft Hoorn is not!
